What Layouts Can You Expect To See From Us?

1) Little Simonsby - An O gauge end-to-end named in memory of our late chairman. Set in the 1950s, this sees regular outings to Highley Engine House, Wombourne and many others. We operate both steam and diesel, in keeping with the period and like to provide viewers with a variety of movements including through passenger, pick-up goods and special visitors taking up residence in the engine shed. We also allow young children to sometimes have a go at driving one of the tank engines. We know the hobby has received a lot of attention recently about ‘being full of has-beens’ but that’s simply not true. We believe in starting potential modellers off young and thus Simonsby is one of the best places for that.

2) Metford Town - A OO gauge 1930s GWR/SR end-to-end layout which started life as a group project for members to learn about the building process. Having recently changed ownership to a new governor, Metford has seen some aesthetic changes since it was last on the exhibition circuit including an electric sub-station, warehouses and new trees have been planted.

3) In terms of N gauge layouts, we have in our collection the old favourites of The Welsh Marches (based on Craven Arms), Bewdley and Wellington. These have seen regular use for several years with the latter currently being in storage. Stokesay is the pride and joy of our senior members but is in need of some TLC so it’s hoped that Bewdley (after a long absence) will soon take its place. Watch this space!
